Some would argue that it’s all about visuals and aesthetics, others would say it’s about strategy and user-friendliness. A designer’s job can range from applying critical thinking and bringing an “anything is possible” attitude to projects, to applying empathy in order to solve real human problems. The field of design touches so many industries and facets of our society that it can be difficult to
pin down. In this issue of MISC, our contributors cover a range of topics that look at design from all angles. From exploring evolution’s role in designing the modern-day human being to considering whether VR design has unintentionally left out female users, this issue aims to uncover and analyze the role that design plays in our lives.
